The International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders organised, the 20th IFSO World Congress at the Hofburg Imperial Palace in Vienna, Austria, from August 26th – 29th, 2015.

As invited speaker  Prof. Dr. Konstantinos M. Konstantinidis  Director of General, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgical Clinic Athens Medical Center, Maroussi, Athens, Greece and other members of his team ( S. Hirides, MD, Msc, FACS, P. Hirides MD, PhD, P. Chrysocheris, MD, FACS, F. Antonakopoulos MD), present us a rare case of alkaline reflux following a ‘reversed technique’ in a RYGB patient.

In inexperienced hands the complications of gastric bypass can be deteriorating for both the patient and the surgeon. Experience of the operating team in bariatric surgery and surgical technique are of extremely high importance for optimal results after this procedure.
